Upbeat or Beat Up?

Posted April 2nd, 2020

By Dr. Hal Kitchings

I shared a video on my Facebook page with this theme. Years ago, I read a devotional by Robert J. Morgan with this same title. (If you recognize his name, it’s because he also wrote the book, I’m walking through during our Facebook live study on Wednesday nights, entitled, Red Sea Rules. Every day we have a choice. We can be upbeat or beat up. It’s hard right now to stay upbeat. But by the grace of God, we can continue to see the glass half full.

One way to do this is by having a team. Social distancing does not mean staying totally away from others. Thanks to technology, we can “socialize.” Even if you are totally “old school” and just have a phone. Call people. Take calls. (Be careful of solicitors.) But stay connected in every way possible. We are meant to do so. (Hebrews 10:25)

Please read the entirety of Philippians 4:4-9. Here’s a taste of what you’re in for to help keep you upbeat during these challenging days… And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are…

We are going to get through this by the grace of God, and with the help of each other. Hang in there…

Until Next Time...
